Join us for a sneak preview of an exclusive exhibition by printmaking artist Michael Buchanan that will be held at The Roastery over the Easter holidays. Michael will give a talk about his work with an explanation of his lino cutting artistic process.
Michael graduated from Glasgow School of Art, BA Hons in Fine Art (Sculpture and Printmaking). After teaching art and design in Glasgow, Shetland and Dorset, Michael was an Art Adviser in London and trained art teachers to MA level at the University of London Institute of Education.
After a varied career as a senior education adviser Michael picked up his printmaking tools again and set up his studio and workspace at his home in Fortingall in Highland Perthshire. He specialises in original, hand-cut, limited edition relief printing, principally linocuts, with imagery drawn from both rural and urban experience from where he lives, visits and walks. Michael is an active member of Highland Print Studio and exhibitor at Fortingall Art.
