Red Stag Espresso

We buy seasonally so the components for our Red Stag espresso blend change throughout the year, but we always aim for a cup that is sweet and fruity with a lovely chocolate base. We’re proud to offer a coffee that can stand alone as espresso but is equally phenomenal in milk.

Our aim with Red Stag Espresso is to offer a consistent and reliable blend for our all our customers, whether they're a specialty cafe owner or an enthusiastic home espresso brewer.

We'e been working with Bruna Costa of the UK/Brazil based women owned importers Bossa Coffee for a number of years now and are delighted to have secured this delicious fresh harvest, natural obata lot from Patrcia Coelho's, Fazenda Santo Antonio in Santo do Pinhal. Patricia recently took over her family's coffee business from her father and runs it along with her son Pedro, an agronomist. The altitude and landscape of Patricia's farm are perfect for producing speciality coffee. Her neighbour is Brazil's most renowned winery, Guaspari, producing mainly outstanding syrah wines. It's an incredible terroir.

Chontali is a highland coffee district of steep ridges and humid valleys with many smallholder communities typically farming under two hectares roughly 1600 to 2000 metres above sea level. Coffee is delivered to the Falcon warehouse ion a daily basis during the harvest where each lot is analysed and cupped and payment then made to the farmer immediately ensuring good cash flow for the producers and premium payments for quality.

Kalingwe is a village in the northern part of Kasese District situated in one of the many valleys of the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Agri Evolve established a buying centre here for the farmers of Ibanda and the surrounding communities higher up on the hillsides. Farmers typically have between 1 and 2 acres of land and coffee is their main cash crop. Ripe, red coffee cherries are harvested daily during the harvest season and taken to Ibanda. The cherries are weighed, assessed for quality and the farmers are paid in cash. From here trucks carry the cherries to the Agri Evolve coffee station where the cherries are floated and graded before being sun-dried.
