Fantastic coffee

We like Red Stag coffee after each meal as it works well in a flat white and an espresso. It’s a smooth but robust flavour. We have tried many other artisan roasts but have settled on this one for all our coffee requirements.

A joy.

Quite possibly the best coffee roasters around — the perfect way to start the day!
Red Stag espresso delivers a rich, bold flavour balanced with delicate fruity notes, and it brews beautifully at home.
Red Stag has been my go-to for the past three years, and opening a fresh bag of beans is still a real pleasure.

Just lacking that wee of strength to be a good expresso.

Hello Colin,

I'm glad you like the Red Stag Espresso for the most part. If you want to get in touch I may be able to help you tweak your espresso recipe to get a slightly stronger shot! Generally speaking, increasing your dose or making your grind a bit finer should help you increase the total dissolved solids (the fancy term for strength) in the cup, but I can get into more detail if you are able to share the machine, grinder, and recipe you're using.

If you didn't already know, 'strength' is incorrectly used by big coffee companies as a synonym for 'darkness'. Our Red Stag Espresso is a medium roast so it definitely won't have the roasty flavours that you might expect from a dark roast (if that's what you're looking for).

Please send an email to nick@glenlyoncoffee.co.uk if you'd like any help with your extraction! Otherwise, I hope you keep enjoying our coffee.

Best regards,
Nick | Head of Front of House

Great Coffe

Probably this best coffee I've made in my espresso machine since we got it 3 years ago. And as a bonus my wife thinks the same!
