Coffee has a long supply chain, from the farmers, to the harvesters, the milling, the exporting, the cupping and grading, and finally to the roasting. As the barista you have a very important job of showcasing the coffee at its very best, ensuring every cup reflects its quality and flavour.
In this course we first begin with understanding specialty coffee through a small talk and roastery tour where you can get exclusive access to our production area. An introduction to espresso and extraction will warm up the palette so you can fully understand the terms 'under-extracted' and 'over-extracted', which will give you the confidence to then identify these when brewing at home. After, we will deep dive into how to texture milk like a pro, using our top of the range machinery, learning how to pour hearts, tulips, rosettas, and for the more ambitious...swans.
This is a relaxed course and is suitable for home baristas of any level - whether you just bought your first espresso machine, or you want to sharpen up your current skills - we will tailor the course to specific interests or focus points you would like to work on. Come and enjoy the chilled vibes of our space and learn something new!
Please note we require a minimum of 2 people for the class to run (maximum of 4). In the result that only one person has booked, we will cancel the ticket and issue a refund. We unfortunately cannot issue refunds for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, or for non-attendance.
