Join Mountain Guide Jamie Grant on a journey to the summit of Scotland’s fabled fairy mountain of the Caledonians. The heart of mainland Scotland, Schiehallion is renowned for its folklore, botany, conical shape and extraordinary scientific history. In the 18th century the prominent Astronomer Royal Nevil Maskelyne estimated the mean destiny of the earth from the summit in an experiment that also ended with the invention of contour lines.
This walk is tailored for up to a maximum of only two people and is ideal for anyone who is new to the Scottish Munros. The date for this walk in May or June 2024 is flexible to allow for the best weather window.
