We know summer is really on its way when the first of the fresh harvest Ethiopians arrive at our Aberfeldy roastery. And we’re excited to kick off Ethiopia coffee season with this super delicious coffee from the Bonde Kochere washing station in Yirgacheffe.
The high altitudes, climate, local heirloom varieties and sandy, fertile soils of the region result in an incredibly delicate, citrussy and bright cup profile from this washing station year on year and this new arrival has seriously wowed us with its gorgeous peach, lime and floral notes.
The contributing farmers for this coffee are part of the Kerchanshe network, set up by Israel Degfa (who we very much enjoyed hanging out with in Sidamo and Guji a few years back). Kerchanshe support producers and their families with access to healthcare, education and agricultural support.
