This AB lot was produced by numerous smallholder farmers, all of whom are members of the Kimaratia Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) delivering to Gitare Coffee Factory (as washing stations/wet mills are called in Kenya). The factory is located near the town of Gatundu, in Kenya’s Kiambu County.

The Kimaratia Farmers Cooperative Society was founded in 1995; today the cooperative operates 3 separate factories (Gachika, Gitare and Gichuka). Around 2,200 members belong to the Cooperative and around 750 of these deliver to the Gitare factory.
