Because the rains didn’t come to Kenya till mid April the harvest is late this year so the good samples are just starting to come in. As always it’s such a pleasure to cup at origin and the Taylor Winch lab is fantastic, overflowing with samples everywhere in drawers and on the tables. The amazing Dainah Gatakaa, the quality manger here for 14 years, cups anything up to 300 samples a day. Impressive! Cupping with @mercantacoffee and @taylor_winch_kenya_coffee tomorrow but first this! Hanging out with this beautiful Masai Giraffe in @nairobinationalpark.
It’s brilliant that this park exists just outside the city. As well as giraffe we saw zebra, buffalo, impala, eland, hippo, white rhino and Three LIONESSES. Not bad for a Sunday morning. Beautiful Africa it’s so good to be back.

Olha só quem apareceu em uma de nossas reservas ambientais na semana passada! O Lobo-guará é um animal solitário, tímido e inofensivo. Suspeitamos que esta seja uma fêmea e o possível motivo de sua agitação seja a presença dos filhotes por perto. O animal alimenta-se de frutas e pequenos animais e encontra-se em extinção devido ao crescente desmatamento do cerrado, que é seu habitat natural. Para auxiliar na conservação da espécie a fazenda destina metade da sua área de reserva legal ao bioma de cerrado e não tolera de forma alguma a caça em seus domínios. 🐺🌳🌴

Take a look at who appeared in one of our environmental reserves last week! The Guara Wolf is a lonely, shy and harmless animal. We suspect that it was a female and a possible reason for its disturbance was the presence of its puppies nearby. This animal feeds on fruits and small animals and is endangered due to the growing deforestation of Cerrado, which is its natural habitat. In order to assist the specie conservation Fazenda do Lobo leaves half of its legal reserve to this biome and does not tolerate any type of hunting in its territory. 🐺🌳🌴
